After lifting the twenty-fifth trophy of his story as President of Milan, Silvio Berlusconi, with the expression of someone who knows how to win, did nit limit himself to voice his satisfaction, but he straight away set a new objective. After reaching a step, there’s another one, after a target, even though a big one, there’s still a bigger one. And so, here’s the President, on the 31st of August in that of Montecarlo, and the philosophy which allowed him to order one by one in the trophy-case his 25 Cups: "The motivations never end, Milan knows that after reaching a target there’s always another one. For this reason we go forward, with new targets to reach, starting from the World Club Cup.”Many magical moments of these twenty years are explained like this: Silvio Berlusconi is a man who knows how to look far without ever seeing the horizon, who knows how to dig without seeing the bottom, who knows how to run to win, without stopping at the podium. With Milan he gave life to a great dream, made of positive heroes, uncommon values and wins which are never ordinary.
Winning 25 trophies is something unimaginable, if you don’t have the ambition of the great ones, those who have been accompanied by names like Invincible or Immortals. But in the years of Presidency of Silvio Berlusconi there’s more. There’s the tradition, the sense of belonging, the style of who gave to the shirt and colours a place in paradise, directly from the hell in which it was.
From the first one till the last triumph, Silvio Berlusconi has always been faithful to his starting image, that of 1986, which Adriano Galliani often talks about: taking Milan to the highest top, winning and convincing, with nice football which he loves so much. The moments of joy have always gone hand in hand with new ambitious motivations, those less positive with smiles and the conviction that you can leave problems behind and that you can get up when you fall. An incredible point of reference and motivator: this is how the Rossoneri players see him. From Captain Paolo Maldini to Ronaldo, who let his hair grow to please him. Passing from Inzaghi, his favourite person to talk to in the great European nights, to Gilardino, with his ‘fixed place in the Milan future.’ Without forgetting his special feeling with Kaka, defined as 'a real Rossoneri's symbol'. And so on and so forth with the rest, today and yesterday's players. And surely tomorrow's too.
Without forgetting the reciprocal affection and unconditional respect which the President nurtures towards Carlo Ancelotti and which the Coach exchanges. Remember San Siro, on the 25th of May, the Rossoneri’s celebrations following Athens? The thought of our coach went to the person ‘who made all this possible, Silvio Berlusconi’, Who made the Rossoneri’s formation the best team in Europe. With the instinct, passion and emotion of the first day.
So let’s list them, because it’s nice to do so, the 25 jewels in the trophy-case of via Turati: 7 Scudetti, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 5 Champions League, 5 European Super Cups, 5 Italian Super Cups, 1 Coppa Italia.
