SIMPLY UNDESERVED

Unanimous opinions from Adriano Galliani and Carlo Ancelotti: 'We played a great match. We did not deserve to lose. The result was conditioned. We ask for more attention.'

PALERMO - Here are the words of Adriano Galliani and Carlo Ancelotti following yesterday's match between Palermo and Milan (2-1).

ADRIANO GALLIANI
'The team played well, we created numerous chances, hit the crossbar twice through Pirlo and Seedorf, there were two goal-line clearences. A draw would have been unbelievable, let alone a defeat. Aside from some mistakes we made, this result is disappointing. The first goal shouldn't have been allowed: Diana was offside and Amauri used his hand to control the ball.'

'Milan did not deserve to lose. Perhaps if the referee had not allowed that goal, we could have won. We don't intend to attack the referees, but what's disappointing is the repetitiveness of the mistakes. It also happened at Siena. Let's hope these mistakes which are penalising us stop.'

'Our position in the league does not preoccupy me, the squad is very strong, I have nothing to complain. The lads played well and lost undeservedly. Let's remember we are European champions and we also won the Supercup, soon we have the Club World Cup. I think more attention is needed, from everyone.'

CARLO ANCELOTTI
'This Milan did well. I appreciated the football, the approach to the match, the fact that the team has come through the difficulties we had in the previous matches. For an hour we were perfect, balanced in attack and defence. I saw a Milan at high levels, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Then the referee's mistake near the end of the match conditioned the last part of the game and the result.'

'We ask for more attention, not regarding us, but regarding the game in general. Amauri jumped in the middle of the area with his arm in the area. It seemed like a clear foul. It's too bad, because we played a great match.

'We were aggressive, cohesive, we played excellent football, our football, made of accelerations, good moves, and nice touches by Gilardino. Everything went well. That's why we return home with disappointment and bitterness, but also with the determination to go back to winning ways as quickly as possible.
